Warnock for Georgia – Social Media

Keeping it real

Showing our online audience that the Senator had a fun side was crucial. Genuine interactions and candid videos from him worked the best. Below are a series of tweets I wrote, pitched and executed that were our top posts for their respective months.

Bus Tour

During our bus tour, I was helping write a new post for every bus tour stop we had. The sheer volume meant getting creative when writing the posts to keep folks engaged online. We saw a higher than average engagement with this post, more than other our normal bus tour posts.

Important Dates

Part of my role is keeping track of important dates for our content calendar. One of the posts I wrote was on remembering the Atlanta spa shooting. I wanted to make sure we did not forget to show the Senator’s commitment to the communities he fights for in the Senate.

Team Warnock

I helped create Team Warnock with the vision of creating a more fun campaign account. The Reverend Warnock account’s brand is a little more serious so we wanted to preserve that tone. Below are a few highlights of the content I created for the Team Warnock account.

Writing – Fundraising

Most of my professional career, I’ve written copy for online fundraising. I find it challenging and rewarding to strike a balance between achieving goals for the fundraising program and highlighting authentic messaging. Below is a selection of my copy writing:

Subject: Exciting news!

Big news, friend – Stacey Abrams and I just opened our new field office in Sandy Springs, Georgia!

That’s me with State Rep. Park, Rep. Nikema Williams, and Stacey Abrams cutting the ribbon to our office!

We’re kicking off the summer with strong voter outreach in all corners of our state. But as we’re getting closer to Election Day, that also means more expenses to:

— Hire the best field organizers to get out the vote
— Pass out yard signs and flyers to all our supporters
— Keep our volunteers fueled with pizza and snacks

And this new effort couldn’t have come at a better time: CNN is calling me the most vulnerable Senate Democrat up for reelection, and the GOP is launching nasty attack ads to defeat me. Now, recent polls show me one point down – in a race experts say could decide Senate control.

I’m not taking a dime of corporate PAC money, so I mean it when I say your grassroots support is essential to powering our movement forward. So please, friend, will you give $5 or more right now to fund the critical investments that will keep Georgia and the Senate blue?

Every bit of your support goes a long way. Thank you so much.

Subject: What The New York Times is reporting

I had to reach out:

The New York Times just reported that despite my opponent, Herschel Walker, saying he would donate millions of his companies’ profits to charity, there is no evidence he did.

This is par for the course with Walker, and it’s clear he has a problem with the truth.

He is not ready to represent Georgia.

Despite all this, Republicans are all-in behind him. And Donald Trump even announced he’s going to rally and rile up his base for Walker, right here in Georgia.

While Walker’s been cozying up with the GOP establishment, I’ve been in Congress fighting for voting rights, better jobs, and lower health care costs. I secured a cap on insulin costs for seniors and student loan relief.

When I first ran for office, I vowed to not take a dime of corporate PAC money. I work for the people plain and simple. And with just a few weeks until Election Day, my team just set an important midnight fundraising goal. Can I count on you to chip in before my midnight deadline?

Thank you,

Reverend Warnock
